About the Role:
Job Title: Senior Data Analyst (Power BI, Data Warehouse Design)
Location: Remote (6 AM IST start time)
We are a team of IT professionals dedicated to partnering exclusively with non-profit organizations and charities, providing them with full-stack business intelligence solutions through the Power BI platform. With our extensive experience in the non-profit sector and world-class technical expertise, we help clients make informed, data-driven decisions that advance their causes and create a positive impact in their communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Warehouse Design: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of data warehouses to support comprehensive reporting and analysis.
- Power BI Development: Create visually compelling and insightful reports using Power BI, effectively representing complex data sets.
- Client Collaboration: Attend client meetings to understand reporting needs, and articulate how data solutions can be implemented to meet these requirements.
- Data Integration & Transformation: Connect diverse data sources (e.g., relational/non-relational databases, flat files, spreadsheets, APIs) to import and transform data for analysis.
- Automation: Continuously improve and automate data collection, processing, and reporting to streamline client operations.
- Data Governance & Security: Design data solutions that comply with governance and security requirements from the start.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their goals and translate these into practical, actionable data insights.
- Problem-Solving: Prevent, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and data-related challenges efficiently.
Qualities We Are Looking For:
- Rapid Learner: Quickly adapt to unfamiliar business systems and processes.
- Communication Skills: Explain complex technical concepts in simple terms, making data understandable to non-technical stakeholders.

- Data Structuring: Organize data logically, grouping and prioritizing variables and visuals in ways that make sense to users.
- SQL Proficiency: Fluent in SQL query writing, including complex joins, stored procedures, and common table expressions (CTEs).
- Excel Mastery & Beyond: Strong skills in Excel with the ability to work with other tools for handling large datasets that go beyond spreadsheet capabilities.
- Data Quality Management: Adept at identifying data quality issues and implementing strategies to remediate and mitigate risks.
- Team Player: Collaborate well with team members, sharing knowledge and mentoring others. Known for your positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Agile & Organized: Effectively manage multiple projects and stakeholders, communicating timelines clearly and handling priorities smartly.
Technical Expertise:
- Expert-level Power BI development, maintenance, and improvement.
- Extensive experience in data warehouse design and database performance optimization (including keys, indexes, and datatypes).
- Advanced understanding of data governance, security, and how to integrate these into solutions.
- Strong MS Office suite skills, particularly in Excel, with an ability to work with large datasets and other tools when necessary.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in data analysis and reporting, working with large data sets.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Power BI and data analysis.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and delivery approaches.
- Proven ability to manage concurrent projects and stakeholders effectively.
This role is fully remote but requires a 6 AM (IST) start time to ensure overlap with our team and clients based in New Zealand. You will have the opportunity to work with cause-driven organizations, using your expertise to support their missions and make a real difference in our communities.
